Erin's favorite past time yesterday was sitting in the dryer, playing with her barbies....I guess that's one way to get some privacy.

Exciting progress--

Friday, while picking Erin up from school, the vice-principal informed me that Erin sounded out a few letters for her that afternoon.
.
Yes, Erin has made her first step in reading!!
Way to go Erin!!!

My life is never boring with little Erin!

Let me start off with her morning shower;
While Erin was enjoying her nice warm shower I was playing with Jamie, my 1 year old. Next thing I knew water was seeping from the bathroom into the hall. It doesn't take a Rocket Science to know that something was going on. There Erin was, taking a nice bath......in the walk in shower!! Water was overflowing right onto my bathroom floor and running under the door into the hall! .....I needed to wash those floors anyway!
.
Shortly after getting home from school;
I caught Erin spraying Windex in Jamie's hair. I got to give it to her, Jamie smells awfully good!

The Value of Special Needs Children

Zip on over to my dear hubby's blog at
Shadows of Augustine to read the story.

HEAVEN'S VERY SPECIAL CHILD
by Edna Massimilla
A meeting was held quite far from earth.
It’s time again for another birth,
Said the angels to the Lord above,
This special child will need much love.
His progress may seem very slow.
Accomplishments he may not show.
And he’ll require extra care,
From the folks he meets way down there.
He may not run or laugh or play,
His thoughts may seem quite far away.
In many ways he won’t adapt
and he’ll be known as handicapped.
So let’s be careful where he’s sent.
We want his life to be content.
Please Lord, find me parents who
will do a special job for you.
They will not realize right away
The leading role they’re asked to play.
But with this child sent from above
Come stronger faith and richer love.
And soon they’ll know the privilege given,
In caring for this gift from Heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek and mild,
Is Heaven’s Very
Special Child.

Learning to annoy!

Recently, I've been seeing a bit of sibling rivalry going on between Erin and my little 17month old. This morning was no different. With Jamie on my lap and Erin sitting on her chair watching, the not so educational, SpongeBob everything seemed to be going great. UNTIL, Erin decided to get up and get her Barbies. That little Jamie jumped right off my lap and sat on Erin's seat and just watched Erin to see what her reaction would be. It just amazes me, she's only 17months...this starts already? ugh!
.
The entire morning, at that point, was flipped upside down, Erin pushes Jamie, Jamie bites Erin.......I end up with 2 screaming kids and an unwanted headache!
